Jet2 has likely suspended its Turkey package tour program to meet the mid-term seekers.
Outbound flights will continue until the end of this week (Friday) but will then be suspended due to restrictions on coronavirus travel quarantine.
Turkey was added to the government’s no-go travel list last week. The decision has been described as a “major blow to the travel industry”.
Jet2 has announced that it will operate inbound flights from Izmir to the UK through October 10th and from Antalya, Bodrum and Dalaman through October 13th.
All holidays up to and including October 31st will be automatically canceled and refunded. Package holidaymakers receive £ 100 off alternative bookings for October and November.
The removal of Turkey from the list of safe travel destinations was a major blow to Jet2, which massively expanded its program for the country after it stopped traveling to other European hotspots.
Jet2 increased its vacation and flight capacity to the Greek islands, which are exempt from UK quarantine restrictions, when it suspended its Turkey vacation.
The islands of Zante / Zakynthos, Crete and Tinos should return to the safe travel list due to a drop in coronavirus infections.
It was stated that customers were still in demand for the autumn break.
