Justice League Dark: meet the characters from DC Comics

Praised by many DC Comics fans, the Dark Justice League is made up of characters dealing with supernatural problems that are beyond the reach of the traditional Justice League.

And the team’s success has not gone unnoticed. The Dark Justice League has gained so much fame over the years that it becomes a live action series streaming HBO Max produced by Bad Robot. It’s worth remembering that in 2017 the team had an animated movie, dubbed by Rosario Dawson and Alfred Molina.

The team’s first edition, created during the publisher’s reboot of Novos 52, launched in 2011 with veteran screenwriter Peter Milligan. The first story of the Dark Justice League brought together characters Constantine, Shade, Zatanna, Challenger, Mental Distortion, and Madame Xanadu against plans to destroy witch magic.

Over time, other characters were added to the team’s formation, including Frankenstein, Black Orchid, Swamp Monster, among others. How about meeting some of the characters that make up this supernatural team?

John Constantine

John Constantine, one of DC’s most iconic characters, was played by Keanu Reeves in cinemas in 2005. As the leader of the Dark Justice League (and later replaced by Zatanna), the magician can create illusions and talk to demons as well as ghosts, but his greatest skill is cunning in dealing with enemies.

Mrs. Xanadu

She’s the one who organizes the Dark Justice League when she envisions an event that only they can stop. Madame Xanadu has also won Death in a card game, making her immortal.

In the past she was the sorceress Nimue (adapted from the legend of the Arthurian tales) and lost her powers after trying to cast a spell on Merlin.
