Kim Jong-un brands US 'biggest enemy' in opening salvo to new President Biden

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has pledged to expand his nuclear arsenal – and branded America as its greatest enemy.

The persistent communist dictator said he did not expect Washington to change its policy towards North Korea even if President-elect Joe Biden took office later this month.

President Kim, 37, said: “Our foreign policy activities should be aimed at subjugating the US, our greatest enemy and main obstacle to our innovative development.”

Analysts believe his comments are an attempt to put pressure on Mr Biden.

Kim had a good relationship with President Trump, but no real progress has been made in winding down his nuclear program.

The dictator told a meeting of his ruling Labor Party in the capital Pyongyang that plans for North Korea’s first nuclear submarine were almost complete.
