Line of Duty fans were back on a roller coaster ride in series six as the BBC One program takes on new twists and turns every Sunday night.
But even the most die-hard AC-12 fans will be blindly struck by the events of the sixth episode, which aired this Sunday (April 24th).
At the end of episode 5, which was watched by 10 million viewers on BBC One, DI Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure) and DCI Joanne Davidson (Kelly Macdonald) saw themselves in an armed confrontation with Pc Ryan Pilkington (Gregory Piper).
And that familiar music swelled after a shot was clearly fired off-camera – but who got hit?
Well, DI Fleming and DCI Davidson survived another day when poor old Ryan was fatally wounded.
This week’s episode featured a record-breaking interview that lasted 29 minutes and 22 seconds – and Davidson was exposed to the full strength of Superintendent Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar), newly-added DCI Patricia Carmichael (Anna Maxwell Martin) and DI Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) in this famous windowed interview room.
The interview revealed that Jo was Ryan’s killer, but Jo isn’t the only one feeling uncomfortable as Carmichael rejects all Hastings efforts to find out more details about ‘H”s identity.
Carmichael flies directly against Hastings’ suspicions as she circled him: “This group has found no evidence of institutionalized corruption.”
In fact, many fans now feel they know exactly who ‘H’ is – and she is the new responsible face at AC-12.
“Could Carmichael be” H “?” Suki G tweeted while Emma Rowley added, “Well, there’s evidence Carmichael dodges,” when the DCI sought out Fleming and Davidson.
Another user added, “Carmichael is bent,” while Just Tom said what everyone seems to be thinking, “Carmichael is definitely H.”
