Falling hospital numbers
The number of Covid-19 patients in hospital in England was 32,938 at 8 a.m. on Monday 25 January, according to the latest figures from NHS England.
This is a 4% decrease from a week and the third day in a row that the number has decreased from week to week.
In two regions, the number of Covid-19 patients increased from week to week: In the Midlands with 6,330 patients, the number increased by 1%. and North East England / Yorkshire with 3,891 inhabitants by 3%.
The numbers for the other regions are: London 7,014 patients, an 11% decrease from the week; South East England 5,237, down 5%; North West England 4,122, down 3%; East England 4,044, down 5%; and Southwest Engalnd 2,300, minus 3%.
