Health Secretary Matt Hancock will hold a press conference this afternoon to provide more details on the government’s community testing program, Downing Street said.
It was rumored that the first UK vaccines could be used from Wednesday. Regulatory approval is expected this week.
Mr Hancock will also look at the new levels due to come into effect across England from Wednesday – if approved by MPs.
The lower house will vote on the measures on Tuesday – 100 Conservative MPs have doubts about the strict rules.
The government said another 205 people died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 on Monday, bringing the total in the UK to 58,448.
Separate figures released by the UK statistical authorities for deaths where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate, as well as additional data on deaths that have occurred in the past few days, show that there are now 74,000 deaths with Covid-19 in the UK 19 gave.
The government said there had been an additional 12,330 laboratory-confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK as of 9:00 a.m. on Monday.
The total number of cases in the UK is 1,629,657.
