Loose Women's Jane McDonald announces 'immense sadness' at her partner's death

Loose Women star Jane McDonald’s partner has died after battling lung cancer.

Ed Rothe, 67, died on March 26 after battling the disease for the past few months. BirminghamLive reports.

As the drummer for the Sixties band The Searchers, Mr Rothe had been in the hospital for the past few months, a statement on behalf of the television presenter said.

The message shared on Ms. McDonald’s Twitter account reads: “It is with great sadness that we share the news that Jane’s beloved longtime partner Ed passed away on Friday March 26th. He had been against for the past few months Fighting Lung Cancer We would like to thank everyone for their help and support during this very difficult time, especially the NHS staff and the wonderful team at Wakefield Hospice.

“The funeral took place earlier today and we ask for your kindness to respect Jane’s privacy for her and Ed’s family at this sad time.”

On Wednesday, fans of the singer and panelist quickly expressed their condolences.

One fan replied, “Oh Jane darling, I’m so sorry to hear this terrible news. You were both a true love story, night night and God bless you Ed. Jane, and send you my sincere condolences and lots of love.”
