Armed police rushed onto a street in Paris after a man reportedly barricaded himself inside a building with a machete.
The officers were called to the eleventh arrondissement this morning.
Locals reported seeing a man with a machete in a subway station around 10:30 a.m. GMT.
A witness wrote online: “There is a man walking through the halls of Pére-Lachaise with a machete.
“I saw my life presented without knowing whether to stay on the subway or walk home.”

Another wrote: “(A man) carries a machete around on the subway. Be careful.”
The French police have not yet commented on the incident.
According to Le Plume Libre, the man is now barricaded in a building.
Operational Support Group employees are on site and have cordoned off Rue du Chemin-Vert and told dealers to stay in their stores.

Jean-Christophe Martin, a city councilor, urged people not to come into the area.
