QUEBEC CITY – Quebec City police arrested a man early Sunday on suspicion of killing two people and injuring five others in a knife stab near provincial law on Halloween.

The provincial police previously said they were looking for a man in clothes medieval clothing and armed with a bladed weapon that left “multiple victims”.

Canadian broadcaster CBC quoted Quebec City police spokesman Étienne Doyon said the suspect was in his mid-twenties. Doyon would not say if the police knew him.

Doyon did not identify the victims and would not say whether the attacks were accidental, CBC reported.

There is no word on a possible motive for the attacks.

Police said five victims had been taken to hospital but there was no immediate word about their condition.

The police are asking people in the area to stay inside.
