Matt Hancock will hold a press conference this afternoon before lockdown easing begins in England on Monday.
It comes after 16 cases of another new variant of Covid were discovered yesterday.
And it is because the government is under fire for offering NHS workers a one percent raise.
The Downing Street briefing is expected at 5 p.m.
Mr Hancock will urge people to abide by the rules as some measures will be eased from Monday.
All students are allowed to go back to school and there are changes in the rules for social contacts.
The government has made it clear that rules will not be relaxed unless Covid infection rates go down – which can be caused by rule violations.
