McConnell says Biden will have to release more information surrounding Tara Reade allegation

“If you run for the President of the United States, your life is an open book and I cannot imagine Vice President Biden not having to participate in the publication of all information related to the allegations,” said McConnell. “It is a very challenging thing to run for the President. And I think anyone who has done who has recognized throughout his life is open to the test. And I think that happens to Vice President Biden and they shouldn’t be surprised.”

Republicans have generally held on to Trump, among other things, for sexual assault against him, including in 2019 when asked about columnist and author E. Jean Carroll’s allegation that Trump raped her. The president denied the claim, claiming that he had never met Carroll.

So far, Democrats have followed Biden in a similar way. Spokeswoman Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) Said on CNN Thursday that she “has great sympathy for all women who make an allegation.” But she also said she was “happy with how he responded to Reade’s claim.”

“It’s one thing he has to deal with, but I’m impressed by the people who are working for him at the time and are saying that [they] I absolutely never heard a lot of information about it. No one has ever made a claim or let anyone else tell you about it, “Pelosi said of Biden.” I was proud to support him. America needs someone like Joe Biden with his integrity and vision for the future. “
