Fast food giant McDonald’s and Nando’s chicken chain are reportedly in the final stages of planning to launch new vegan burgers in the UK.
Vegan food shared pictures of the reported new products from the two restaurant groups.
The picture of Nando seems to be an instruction sheet for the kitchen staff in Nando’s restaurants – it shows them how to put the new burger together.
The image of McDonald’s appears to be marketing material that explains why McDonald’s is launching a vegan burger.
According to Vegan Food, the McDonald’s plan is a collaboration with Beyond Meat. McDonald’s partnered with Beyond Meat to try a vegan burger in Canada called PLT.
The picture says that the burger consists of a vegan plant-based patty from Beyond Meat, a slice of vegan cheese, vegan mayonnaise, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, onion, ketchup and mustard in a bun.
They say the burger will be vegan certified.
The obvious marketing material is, “At McDonald’s, we believe everyone should enjoy a delicious burger without compromising on taste.”
The apparent picture of Nando shows a tinkered peri-plant puck in a Portuguese roll with vegan perinase, a burger sheet and a slice of beef tomato.
Neither McDonald’s nor Nando’s have officially announced or confirmed that they will be launching any new vegan products.
