Meghan Markle gave Idris Elba key royal wedding instruction, the star reveals

Luther star Idris Elba shared how he felt the pressure of DJing at Meghans and Harry’s wedding party – and revealed how the bride told him what to play.

The 49-year-old actor is no stranger to the decks, DJing Madonna and working on a track with Sir Sir Paul McCartney.

But said the royal wedding reception – which was held at Frogmore House in Windsor, Berkshire – was his “most stressful” appearance, reports Der Spiegel.

“That was a big, big deal,” said Elba, who grew up in London.

“Meghan had sent me a playlist, so I already knew what she wanted.

“They’re good friends and I wanted to make sure they were having a great time, so the pressure was on.”

Elba, who made a name for himself in the US crime series The Wire, has also played DJ sets in Ibiza superclubs and at major festivals around the world, reports Email online.

But dad of two, Elba, who is a huge Arsenal fan, entertained some global superstars at the royal wedding.

While show business friends including George Clooney and James Corden were invited, some of Harry’s oldest friends wondered why they hadn’t made the guest list.

Tom Inskip – known as “Skippy” by his friends – did not receive an invitation. Harry had been the man’s best friend for years.

Elba’s reveal came amid allegations that Meghan and Harry were planning on doing more quasi-“royal tours” next year.

Royal commentator Neil Sean claimed the couple will visit Australia and Japan in 2022, though critics have questioned their new role since splitting up from the royal family.

On his YouTube podcast, the royal expert said: “According to a very good source, Harry and Meghan are planning even more, shall we say, ‘fake royal tours’ in 2022.

“Apparently they want to travel to Australia, Japan and back to certain parts of the United States.”

Sean suggested that Harry and Meghan were “not so popular right now” and “maybe they are hoping to revive their former popularity in distant places”.
