The Duchess of Sussex has spoken about the difficulties of having two children as she shared more intimate details about them.
In her television interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Meghan shared how Archie “loves being a big brother” to his little sister Lili.
After Meghan shared a picture of two-year-old feeding chickens in yellow rubber boots at her Montecito, Calif. Home, Meghan said Archie “loves to dance.”
She also revealed that he had dressed up as a dinosaur for Halloween, while Lili was a “little skunk – like Flower from Bambi”.
The former actress ‘high profile appearance comes eight months after the Sussexes’ controversial meeting with Oprah Winfrey that plunged the royal family into a crisis.
Meghan and Harry have so far remained private about Lili, who was born in June and was named after the royal family’s nickname for Queen Lilibet.
You still have to share a photo of your daughter publicly.
The Duchess told chat show host Ellen DeGeneres: “Somebody told H (Harry) and me that having one child and two children are parents is a hobby.
“Suddenly we noticed, ‘Oh yes,’ everyone is talking about the second child, but nobody is talking about the adjustment for the first child when the second comes.
“I think you have that moment where you’re ‘oh, that’s fun, oh, that’s the way it is now’.”
She also said that Harry “loves” the California weather and lifestyle.
The Duchess said Archie “loves to dance” adding that she will cook for Thanksgiving.
She told the audience, “I love to cook, we’ll be at home and just relax and settle down a bit. It’s our second Thanksgiving (at) home (in) California, so it’s going to be nice. “
DeGeneres suggested that Meghan was a “great dancer,” to which the Duchess replied, “I love to dance, Archie now loves to dance too.”
The couple quit as senior working royals in 2020 for personal and financial freedom and have since signed multiple million pound deals with Netflix and Spotify.
When DeGeneres asked what Harry loves about California, the Duchess replied, “We’re just happy.”
Meghan spoke about how Lili was teething and said, “Anything to alleviate this?” Before DeGeneres jokingly suggested tequila.
Meghan replied: “This is Aunt Ellen for you.”
The timing for Meghan’s broadcast is just over a week after she apologized to the appeals court for forgetting that she authorized a counselor to brief the authors of the controversial biography Finding Freedom about her and Harry.
The appeal of the editor of The Mail On Sunday, Associated Newspapers Ltd, over the privacy case surrounding a letter the Duchess wrote to her estranged father also heard Meghan texting Thomas Markle as “Daddy” because it was “pulling “Would be on the strings of my heart” when the letter was leaked.
Meghan spoke about how she spent the party with DeGeneres and her wife, actress Portia de Rossi – their neighbors in a celebrity enclave in California.
She said, “We went home and saw you guys, which was great.
“But no, we wanted to give the kids some fun and then the kids just weren’t up to it.
“Archie was a dinosaur for maybe five minutes. Not even five minutes. “
Describing how Harry persuaded Archie to put on his dinosaur costume, DeGeneres said, “Finally Harry persuaded him to put his head on. But Lili was a skunk … it was so cute. “
Meghan replied, “She was a little skunk. Like a flower from Bambi. “
The Duchess also revealed how she and Harry, once dressed up in costume, went to a post-apocalypse-themed Halloween party when they met for “one last night on the town” before it was announced that she was one Couple were.
They were joined by Harry’s cousin Princess Eugenie and her current husband, Jack Brooksbank, who were visiting in Toronto, Canada.
“The four of us snuck out in Halloween costumes just to have a fun night out on the town before we were a couple,” Meghan said.
She added, “It was a post apocalypse issue. So we had all these very bizarre costumes on and could only spend one last, funny evening. “
At the end of October 2016, it was announced that they are a couple.
The Duchess also promoted her children’s book The Bench, which she allegedly wrote as a poem for Harry on Father’s Day.
“It was about me watching him and him as a father, which was the most beautiful thing I could see,” she said.
DeGeneres asked, “Does Archie know he’s in here? Does he know that it is him and what does he think of the book? “
Meghan replied, “He does. On the first page, which you open and see our dogs, he says: “This is Pula. This is Guy ‘. “
The Sussexes have a black Labrador named Pula and a Beagle named Guy.
Meghan also spoke out on paid parental leave after doing the same earlier this month.
She said the US is “the only country in the world that does not have a paid state family vacation program.”
The Duchess added: “I will do everything I can to make sure that we can do this for the people.”
Meghan also shared how as a teenager she made scrunchies out of fabric and elastic bands and sold them at school.
