Mel B announced that she has had Covid-19 for five weeks and is still recovering.
The 46-year-old Spice Girl shared flashback photos on her Instagram from a trip to the Maldives, where she stayed in a private villa named after her.
However, the singer admitted that the “reality” was that she was “in bed trying to overcome Covid’s last long journey” and added a hashtag that read “It’s been five weeks now”.
She wrote on Instagram: “In my head I’m here @youandmemaldives ahhhh what a beautiful place, sunshine crystal clear sea is totally spoiled in my private villa named after me.
“But in reality, I’m lying in bed right now, overcoming the last long stretch from COVID # itsbeen5weeksnow #takemeback to #paradise #covidisnojoke #mydogs #thebestsnuggler Thank god for #netflix.”
The pictures showed the pop star swimming in crystal clear water and posing in bikinis, but she admitted that her current state of health was far from paradise.
Spice, the girl group’s blockbuster debut album, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
To celebrate the landmark, they are releasing Spice 25, an expanded anniversary album of previously unreleased songs that will be available from October 29th.
Mel B, real name Melanie Brown, previously announced that she will “make sure” there is a Spice Girls tour in 2023.
As the host of Channel 4’s Steph’s Packed Lunch in September, Brown said, “I always push for a Spice Girls reunion and we were in talks last year, but then Covid struck and all plans moved forward.
“I think we are hopefully on the same page together.
“You’re going to kill me for saying that. We hope, especially me – if it has something to do with me, what it will have, because I am the driving force and will take care of it – to go on tour in 2023. “
