Mike Lee objects to anecdote, prompting a confusing end to 2nd day of Trump trial

Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah) declined to portray an accidental phone call made by then-President Donald Trump on Wednesday night and confused the Senate Chamber on day two of Trump’s impeachment.

Lee rose when Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), The property manager, closed the discussion through Thursday. He asked that a characterization of the call be removed from the log, claiming it was inaccurate.

Trump called Lee on January 6, the day of the Capitol Uprising, but wanted to call Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) To aid his election campaign. Lee himself told the call to Deseret News last month saying he put the phone on Tuberville when he realized Trump had accidentally voted him.
