Miranda Fryer: Neighbours' Sky Mangel actress dies aged 34

The actress, who starred in the Australian soap Neighbors Sky as a child, died in her sleep, her family said.

Miranda Fryer, 34, played in the store for three years at the age of 18 months and was the on-screen daughter of Joe Mangle (Mark Little) and Kerry Bishop (Linda Hartley-Clark).

She died last Thursday at her home in Glen Iris, Melbourne the mirror reports.

In a tribute, her family said, “True soul mates, Miranda and Arthur (Pothitis) made plans to start a family when she went to sleep last week and never woke up. We do not know, why.

“She had health problems with her heart, maybe her beautiful personality was just too good for our world. We who all loved her so much will keep the memories she left us and mourn our loss forever.

“A beautiful child, a stunning teenager, beautiful inside and out… a woman with so much love and happiness to be given and received.

The character from Sky returned to Neighbors but was played by another actress.

After her time on the soap, Miranda, who married Arther Pothitis in 2020, quit acting and studied to become a nurse.

Miranda’s mother, Traci Hunter, told Herald Sun, “She was the most wonderful daughter. She had so much love and passion for life.

“She was a really kind, loving person, almost too good to be true… Miranda was adored by everyone.

“She just fell asleep and didn’t wake up. It’s a terrible shock to all of us.”

She is believed to have had problems with her heart, but the cause of death has not been confirmed.
