Morrisons believes this festive season will be even busier than usual as customers try to catch up on last year’s restricted celebrations due to the lockdown.
The supermarket chain has announced that it will be hiring and training 3,000 new employees at Christmas in order to meet the increased demand. the mirror reports.
Morrisons will hire people for its distribution centers and manufacturing facilities across the country, with roles ranging from warehouse and production workers to order pickers and packers to roles like forklift drivers.
Morrisons has also joined the Kickstart program, which means that applications from 16 to 24 year olds are welcome for Universal Credit.
Morrisons employees receive a minimum of £ 10 an hour and a 10% employee discount.
Clare Grainger, People Director at Morrisons, said, “Customers have told us they want to catch up on last year’s low-key holiday season, so we’re working hard to make sure our shelves are stocked with everything they need to celebrate.
“We are looking for 3,000 Christmas helpers who will temporarily or permanently join our busy, fast-paced and exciting team and help ensure that good things happen this Christmas.”
