Missing three year old boy Anthony ‘AJ’ Elfalak found after three days of searching

The mother of a three-year-old boy who disappeared and was later found in the forest has spoken of her luck to have him back home.

Anthony “AJ” Elfalak disappeared from his home in Putty, near Sydney, Australia last Friday.

AJ, who suffers from autism and is non-verbal, was finally found Monday in a forest wearing only a diaper and sweatshirt and drinking from a stream by police. Officials say it was his ability to find drinking water that helped him survive.

After a night in the ambulance and an examination at Maitland Hospital, the “miracle boy” is now back home with his parents, father Anthony Elfalak, and mother Kelly.

Police say they are investigating, and some senior NSW Police Force detectives say, “There are many things that don’t go together, including allegations of lack of video surveillance from family property.”

Superintendent Tracy Chapman admitted Monday afternoon, “I know everyone has a lot of questions. So we have to try to understand what happened in the past three days. I don’t understand what happened to some of the CCTV recordings, but it is an afterthought part of our inquiries.

“We are definitely satisfied with the current state of affairs. We will continue this investigation to make ourselves comfortable, but from our point of view it is simply good news not alive and he has been located and returned to his family. “

AJ’s mother Kelly closed questions about theories about her son’s disappearance.

She told the Today show, “I was just focused on finding him. We found him, he’s safe. I am happy and just want to thank the police, the RFS, the SES, the entire community and everyone who thought about it, AJ and prayed for him and my family that he would come back safely.

“I want to thank everyone around the world, thank everyone around the world, thank you very much. He is at home, I am happy, we are blessed, thank you. “

When asked about the lack of video surveillance, Kelly said, “I’m not thinking about anything now, I’m happy and my son is here. Thanks very much.

A video showing AJ awake after sleeping at home was posted by his family who say he is very tired and sore.

An official said AJ was eating pizza, a banana and ice cream in the ambulance after she was found.

About the moment she was told that her son had been found, Kelly said, “I broke down. I was so happy. I couldn’t wait to take him in my arms. He looked at me and smiled and held me and he slept. “
