One mom went out of her way to cheer up her children and neighbors by putting up her Christmas decorations three months early – including 5,000 outdoor lights.
Caroline Gabe, 47, has decorated her house for the second time in a row, weeks before everyone else.
The mother of three decided to have a party last September and decorated the front of their house to lighten the spirits in the run-up to last Christmas.
This year she did the same thing again – but with more lights and decorations than before, surpassing her previous decorations.
Her decorations include several eight-foot inflatable bouncy castles – including two Santa Clauses, a giant tree, and a eight-foot-tall reindeer – and she says she loves it so much that she’ll do the same thing every year.
Caroline from Caewern, Port Talbot, Wales said: “I loved the reaction last time – so I’ve grown bigger this year
“I’ve added more inflatables and nearly two thousand more lights.
“It makes me and my kids happy and it cheers the neighborhood – we get a lot of people to come down to see the house.
“I never get tired of Christmas – it’s my absolute favorite time of the year.
“I think this is becoming a routine for us every year now!”
Last year, the mother of three bought her huge collection of decorations while shielding herself because her six-year-old son Theo has severe asthma.
The front of the house was adorned with 3,000 fairy lights, sparkling snow, a four-foot-tall inflatable snowman, and Santa Claus and his reindeer.
After seeing last year’s decorations cheer up her three sons, Jack, 23, Harry, 13, and Theo and their neighbors, this September she wanted to top last year’s.
Last week (4), Caroline went on a 12-hour mission to decorate the house with nearly 5,000 warm white lights, as well as more giant inflatables.
These include a eight foot inflatable gingerbread man, a penguin, a Christmas tree, a snowman, and a reindeer.
Caroline estimated she had spent over £ 1,000 on the huge collection of decorations.
She said, “As a family, we all love Christmas.
“It’s just bright and light and a nice way to cheer people up.
“It put a smile on a lot of people’s faces – people slowed down their cars as they drove by, stopped to take pictures, and texted me on Facebook to compliment the house.
“You get a couple of cars drive by and see them shake their heads, but I just laugh.
“It just makes me line up more and more!
“I will definitely be doing this every year now.”
