The mother of a young woman who was killed in an accident in Weston-super-Mare described her daughter as “her best friend”.
Aliyah Sedley-Jones, known as Lily, was only 17 years old and died last Wednesday (January 5) in a collision with a single vehicle in the coastal town of Somerset.
A moving tribute to her mother has been issued by the Avon and Somerset Police. reports Bristol Live.
It reads, “Lily, you were taken when your life began and you were so excited about everything to look forward to.
“You made the most of every day of your life. You were my best friend, a breath of fresh air and you lit up every room you enter.
“You were so afraid of losing someone you love and the only consolation I have is that at least now you never have to go through the pain that everyone who knows you is feeling right now.
“You were really too perfect for this cruel world and the time when I can be with you again cannot come soon enough.
“Your four brothers and all your family and friends will keep your memory alive as long as we are all alive. We will never stop talking about you because you were the most caring, considerate, loving, funniest and most beautiful girl and we will cherish the time we had with you forever.
“Taken from us at the worst of our ages, only 17 in a sudden tragic accident that will haunt us forever.
“We were proud of you every moment of every day and we love you more than you can ever imagine, my beautiful lily.”
Lily died at the scene of the accident despite the efforts of the local public and rescue workers.
Your family is supported by a specially trained family officer, and an investigation into the circumstances of the clash is ongoing.
Avon and Somerset police said their thoughts were with Lily’s family “at this terrible time”.
