WARNING CALMING IMAGE: When the paramedics arrived, the locals were tending to the newborn at the scene and avoiding carrying it through the night for more than an hour to return to their village
A newborn baby girl was found alive in a forest with worms and insects crawling around.
She had been there for two days and was exposed to bugs on her skin with abrasions and bruises on her face when the villagers found her.
The infant was naked and lay on banana leaf plants that covered the ground.
They wiped her face and body with leaves and made sure she wasn’t badly injured.
When she was rescued by villagers, she started crying and was placed on the ground while they waited for the police and ambulance to arrive.
When paramedics arrived, locals were tending to the newborn baby at the scene and avoiding carrying it through the night for more than an hour to return to their village in Krabi, Thailand.
She was wrapped in a blanket and placed on an ambulance stretcher before being taken to the hospital, where she was treated for dehydration.
The little girl was treated for dehydration and kept under observation, but is said to be healthy and without any permanent health problems from the two nights in the forest.
She survived, despite being discovered in an area where dangerous animals and snakes live with daytime temperatures of up to 35 ° C.
Police are looking for the girl’s mother but said it was difficult to trace her leads.
in the Daily mailPolice Colonel Prasit Yodthong said, “The newborn girl had worms and insects crawling over her body.
“We are currently looking for the mother of the newborn. She is being prosecuted. The baby could have died and we think whoever left the girl knew this.
“We believe the baby was left outside for at least two days. She was there all night, but survived. “
Police are reportedly interviewing people to find a woman who was recently pregnant.
They talk to people in neighboring villages to identify the baby’s mother.
The newborn was taken to Khao Phanom Hospital, where her health will be monitored.
The Thai authorities will then refer her to the Krabi provincial government after her recovery.
It is likely that she will then be placed in the care of the area where orphans are being cared for.
