Actress Nina Wadia is the first celebrity to leave Strictly Come Dancing.
She lost a dance-off on the show on Sunday night with Coronation Street star Katie McGlynn and pro dancer Gorka Marquez.
Wadia, known for her roles in EastEnders and Goodness Gracious Me, was rated 18 points for her tango on Saturday with her partner Neil Jones.
Saturday’s judges’ scores were added to last week’s scores before being combined with the results of a public vote, with the final two couples then performing in a dance-off before the judges.
After Judge Craig Revel Horwood decided to save McGlynn, said, “Well, both couples have improved their game significantly from the first time.
“Nina, you took every step right. Katie, you kept the energy up until the end with a lot of withdrawal, but the couple I want to save are Katie and Gorka. “
Head Judge Shirley Ballas said Sunday’s show “was one of the closest battles we’ve ever had at a dance-off”.
“Both pairs have improved their game. Bot pairs were absolutely delightful to look at, ”she said.
“Neither couple had mistakes, so I chose the couple that had more advanced technical actions in their dance and that pair is Katie and Gorka.”
When asked about her time on the show, Wadia said, “It was really fun, thank you very much.
“Neil is amazing, thank you.”
Jones added, “You were a dream. Second partner on the show for me. I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else.
“You were fantastic and you had so much fun.
“We are literally like a married couple – you both have husbands here tonight!
“It was so much fun together, you said you wanted to dance and you did two amazing dances and I’m really, really, really proud of you.”
The results show on Sunday also featured a group performance by the professional dancers to the Tom Grennan song “Something Better”.
TV presenter AJ Odudu and her partner Kai Widdrington topped the overall rankings for the first two weeks.
However, influencer Tilly Ramsay’s Charleston received the joint top rating on Saturday alongside the Foxtrot from Dragon’s Den star Sara Davies.
Next week, the remaining 14 couples will be doing movie-themed routines.
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 6.45pm on BBC One.
