2022 will be a year of firsts for Odell Beckham Jr. and girlfriend Lauren Wood.
Leading up to his first-ever Super Bowl appearance in February 2022, when the Rams play the Bengals at home in Los Angeles, the 29-year-old receiver told the media he’s on-call given Wood, a fitness trainer, is expected to give birth any day.
“I want to be able to see my child being born, so I’m on watch, I’m on standby,” Beckham said in February 2022.
Beckham, 29, and Wood, 28, announced they were expecting in November 2021, the same month that the three-time Pro Bowler signed with the Rams after his release from the Browns.
Wood, a model and military veteran, shared black-and-white photos on Instagram that featured the couple holding her pregnant belly. She captioned her post with a few emojis and wrote, “ilyilyily.”
Beckham also shared the news on Christmas Day in 2021, posting the same professional photos and other snaps with Wood during her pregnancy.
“My gift won’t be wrapped under a tree this year but I can’t wait to meet You,” Beckham wrote in his caption, referencing his unborn child.
The expectant couple went public with their relationship in November 2019, posting PDA pics via Instagram for the wide receiver’s 27th birthday.
In March 2020, Beckham posted the same photo for Wood’s birthday, writing in his caption, “It’s all about the person you can be ya self wit, I find that this world takes itself a little to serious. Life is full or moments, happy or sad but…what you choose to fill them wit… is on u, I thank u for bein u…YUMI…happy born day.”
Beckham and Wood are fairly private about their relationship, but in recent years, have been more open about their home life.
Wood was by Beckham’s side throughout his recovery from a torn ACL, for which he underwent surgery in November 2020.
She posed alongside him and his mother, Heather Van Norman, in the hospital after Beckham underwent surgery. Norman shared the photo to her Instagram at the time with the caption, “YA GIRLS GOTCHU 💕.”
It’s unclear if the couple was together during Beckham’s five-season tenure with the Giants, who selected the receiver with the 12th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. The LSU product was traded to the Browns in March 2019.
Wood, meanwhile, is a fitness trainer and models for a variety of sports, health and wellness, fashion, and beauty brands. She previously worked on Nick Cannon’s “Wild N’ Out.”
Fans have fallen in love with Beckham and Wood’s romance and will soon likely swoon over the couple’s new addition.
