Thailand: Terrible moment – giant lizard scares office workers

Office workers screamed in fear when a six foot long lizard hurled itself into their office in the middle of the day.

The beast ran into the courier company’s building on the island of Koh Samui in southern Thailand on November 20, much to the disbelief of the three women who worked there.

A CCTV video showed staff screaming in shock as the Godzilla-like reptile whipped its razor-sharp tail and hurled itself against a glass door.

One woman ran outside while another stood on her table and a third hid in a corner of the room while desperately calling for help.

The lizard looked just as amazed as he landed in the room, squeezed into a corner and sniffed the air, apparently wondering what on earth he was getting into.

The footage begins to fall silent as the women continue with their work until one of them lifts her head to see what an incoming sound is.

Without warning, the lizard crashes into the camera frame and skids to a stop at the end of the room as the women scream.

One of the scared office girls said they thought the monitor lizard – known to bite people – was going to attack one of them.

She said, “This is the scariest thing that has ever happened in the office. I get scared when I see a tiny house lizard in the room that is smaller than my finger.

“When the monitor lizard came in, my heart popped out of my chest. I really thought it might attack us.”

The zookeepers came and the monitor lizards went by themselves without being injured.
