Passengers were delighted when a man boarded a train and plugged a huge old-fashioned lamp in the middle of the aisle.
The amusing sight was spotted on the Great Western Railway train from London Paddington to Kemble, Gloucestershire.
Clare Austin, 47, a journalist from Kemble, said: “I was on my way home from London after attending the opening of British Beauty Week with a friend and I noticed the lamp when I got on the train.
“I thought what a nightmare it would be wrestling home with something so unwieldy on the train.
“At some point in the trip I realized the owner had it plugged in!
“The train was pretty quiet as it was late in the evening, but it certainly turned out to be a talking point for passengers and definitely brightened up the trip.”
After posting a photo online, Stroud musician Robbie Humphries admitted to being the lamp owner in the picture, which was taken Thursday (9).
He said: “For everyone interested, the lamp has made it safely to Stroud and will illuminate the five valleys for many years to come.
“Will also be available to lighten moods and brighten after dinner.”
