Sister Alice, played by Tatiana Maslany, will not be returning for season 2 of HBO’s gritty and gritty Matthew Rhys-led movie-TV show Perry Mason.
Sister Alice, performed by Tatiana Maslany, will not be returning for season 2. When Raymond Burr played the heroic attorney built by author Erle Stanley Gardner from the iconic CBS series Perry Mason, which aired from 1957 to 1966, he became a TV star.
Mason was resurrected by HBO in 2020 for a much darker and sharper version of Gardner’s work, starring Matthew Rhys as the famed criminal defense attorney.
Note that HBO’s Perry Mason didn’t live entirely on Rhys’ Mason. It also starred Maslany as Sister Alice, a famous old-style evangelist who had become entangled in a gruesome infanticide case.
Sister Alice will not be returning when Perry Mason arrives for Season 2 due to scheduling conflicts. Maslany’s rep said only that “Sister Alice’s arc was coming to an end, as expected in the Season 1 sequel.”
Perry Mason Season 2 Who is Alice?
It seems Maslany’s departure from Perry Mason was planned after just one. Sister Alice was an interesting character, Maslany also gave a stunning performance in the role, so this is a bit of unfortunate news.
Maslany, on the other hand, has a full acting show as she’s slated to star in the Disney + TV series She-Hulk. Even if the series was for Sister Alice back, filming on She-Hulk would have kept her from going to Perry Mason.
It’s always possible that Sister Alice will make an appearance in the upcoming seasons of the HBO series if it continues like this.
Perry Mason seems to be getting a lot of fascinating characters to focus on, despite Sister Alice’s departure. Season 1 stars Eric Lange and Justin Kirk have been updated to the main cast, so audiences can hope to find many more in Season 2.
