Former Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan said he achieved the only goal he set at the beginning on his last day on the ITV breakfast show.
Morgan quit Tuesday after an argument over his comments on the Meghan Markle and Oprah Winfrey interview that sparked more than 41,000 complaints.
Piers Morgan said goodbye to the Good Morning Britain team after his dramatic departure on Tuesday night.
The TV host, who quit the ITV breakfast show after commenting on the Duchess of Sussex, tweeted, “I had a goal when I got to @GMB – beat @BBCBreakfast on the reviews.
“We did it on my last day.
“That was thanks to the hard work and dedication of the entire team.
“They don’t all agree with me, some don’t even like me, but we were a team … and we won. Thanks guys. I’ll miss you.”
Susannah Reid made a statement at the start of GMB Wednesday morning saying goodbye to Piers.
On Thursday, GP resident on the show defended Dr. Hilary Jones Piers Morgan as “Little People’s Champion” and co-host Kate Garraway said Piers has been of great support to her and that their friendship will continue.
Piers Morgan has described the Duchess of Sussex’s comments in her interview with Oprah Winfrey after his sudden departure from Good Morning Britain as “contemptible”.
The host left the ITV morning show after a backlash against his comments on Meghan and her interview with the headlines, but said it was an “amicable” departure and that he and the broadcaster had “agreed not to agree”.
The Duchess of Sussex officially complained to ITV about Morgan before announcing he was leaving the program.
