Shocking footage shows a mass brawl in which passengers on a Tunisair flight pull each other’s hair shortly before take-off.
The flight was delayed by five hours due to the battle filmed at Turkey’s Istanbul Airport before it flew to Tunis-Carthage International Airport in Tunisia.
It is not known what sparked the ugly scenes that happened on Saturday.
An airline spokesman said a dispute had broken out between passengers, resulting in a five-hour delay and confirmed that an investigation into the incident was ongoing.
The flight landed at the destination around 5 a.m. after the disruption.
The airline spokesman confirmed that cabin crew had to seek the assistance of security teams to ease tension before the plane finally took off.
Airline spokesman Ghassen Ouji said, “This fight caused a five-hour delay and the company suffered financial losses.”
In the footage, several women argue while cabin crew try to defuse the situation.
A young woman in a white top appears to be pushing a passenger before hitting another.
As she turns to hit another passenger, a woman in a beige headscarf pulls her back and holds her before a man grabs her hair and vigorously pulls it back while other passengers scream in shock.
The investigation is still ongoing.
