Police arrest 17 people after departure lounge brawl at Luton Airport

Three people are in hospital with serious injuries after a mass brawl broke out in an airport departure lounge.

Knocks and kicks were thrown at Luton Airport as passengers fought near Dixons and Victoria’s Secret duty-free shops on Friday morning May 15.

Vacationers climbed over seats and rained blows on rivals, with a man repeatedly swinging his wheeled suitcase over his head, reports The mirror.

It is unclear what caused the Fracas, which appeared to be playing between a large group and some rival individuals at 8am.

An airport spokesman said: “We are shocked and saddened by this isolated incident. We take a zero tolerance approach to violence and continue to support the police in their investigations. We sincerely apologize to all affected passengers. “
