The police have tracked down the owner of a severed finger that was found outside an apartment block.
It was discovered in a parking lot on Lower Bannister Street in Southampton, Hampshire, on Saturday morning.
Officials said the man lost his finger trying to climb a fence and they feared he might have lost a lot of blood.
A Hampshire police spokesman said: “Investigations have shown that a man lost his finger in an accident while attempting to climb a fence after being trapped in a courtyard.
“However, he wandered away after receiving a towel from a resident.”
The spokesman said the man was later found after going to the hospital for treatment.
He said: “We are happy to announce that the man who lost part of his finger in Southampton has now been tracked down. The 28-year-old is being treated at the Salisbury hospital for his injury after seeking medical help himself. “
