Chelmsely Wood police caught a suspected drug dealer after witnessing an apparent transaction in which the “customer” got into the car.
Officials discovered suspicious use of the white Volkswagen and crashed when a man they suspected was buying drugs panicked and jumped into the car with the driver.
When the vehicle was searched, several bags of what appeared to be cannabis were found and the police confiscated the drugs.
The police said the perpetrator was being treated “appropriately”.
Chelmsley Wood Police said on Twitter Thursday night: ” #RECORDED | Vehicle detected that is behaving suspiciously (spicy) #ChelmsleyWood Suspected drug trafficking in a man, seeing police officers, the “customer” panicked and jumped into the car.
“Search conducted and drugs confiscated. The perpetrator is treated appropriately. “
Cannabis is a Class B drug and anyone convicted of involvement in its supply and manufacture can face a prison sentence of up to 14 years and an unlimited fine.
Cannabis possession is punishable by up to five years in prison.
