President Biden has announced that he intends to seek re-election in 2024. If he does, he could face opponents in the Democratic primary; his approval rating is currently ten points under water and its approval rating with the Democrats is about down 15-20 points since taking office. He too would be 82 when he begins his second term, and in 2020 he said he sees himself as a “bridge” to a “new generation” of leaders.
