Prince George's godmother shares birthday tradition that William struggles with

Prince George’s godmother has shared a birthday tradition she does for the royal every year.

Julia Samuel, who was close to Princess Diana, is the godmother of William and George and shared the heartwarming tradition on a podcast.

She announced that she had a special surprise in store for George’s seventh birthday in July 2020.

Julia said that she was buying “impossible” toys for the family, which William would then try to assemble for days with careful assembly, reports Der Spiegel.

Ms. Samuel said, “I’m doing something with George [Diana] did to us what gives impossible toys that are really loud and require a lot of manufacturing.

“William then has to spend days sitting down. And then you put all the machines together and it makes terrible noises and lights and all that. “

Watching William struggle to put the toys together is an endless source of entertainment for the family – especially “naughty” George.

Seeing William struggle to assemble the toys “makes me laugh and George laughs,” she added.

Ms. Samuel made the comments when she appeared on the How to Fail with Elizabeth Day podcast.

Ms. Samuel added that George is “amazing” – “He’s funny and lively and naughty and God is her [Diana] would have loved him so much, “she said.

“This is heartbreaking for everyone.”

The podcast was released on July 1, 2020 on the occasion of Princess Diana’s 59th birthday.

Ms. Samuel also said her favorite memory of the king was “her laughter”.
