Rachel Bloom and her husband Dan Gregor are officially a family of three!
Alumnus “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” shared a photo of herself with her newborn baby girl on Instagram on Wednesday – and noted in the caption how “emotionally intense” it was during the coronavirus pandemic.
“She’s here. She’s at home. Having a baby on the NICU during a pandemic while a dear friend in the hospital was 3,000 miles away made this by far the most emotionally intense week of me and Gregor’s life,” Bloom wrote, 32 .
“While the kind doctors and nurses helped my daughter get some fluid from her lungs, we saw the maternity ward around us change every hour to prepare for the upcoming COVID storm,” she continued.
Bloom informed fans that the family was now “safe at home” and expressed her thanks to caregivers both on the NICU and on the front lines of the pandemic.
“From those in our NICUs to those who directly help COVID patients like Adam, they sacrifice so much to fight on the front lines of this war. Thank you, thank you, thank you,” she wrote.
Bloom had previously tweeted about her boyfriend, Adam Schlesinger – a songwriter who worked with her on “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” and a member of the band Fountains of Wayne – who was hospitalized after a positive test for COVID-19. After Bloom posted her announcement, Variety reported that Schlesinger had died of the corona virus.
Bloom tied the knot with her husband who was a writer and producer in 2015. The actress revealed that the couple was expecting last September after winning her first Emmy for excellent original music and lyrics at the Creative Arts Emmys ceremony in Los Angeles.
Speaking to reporters backstage, Bloom blushed, “I am three months pregnant and I can tell my child she was with me when this happened, which is pretty cool.”
Wednesday night she ended her post with a joke and wrote, “Brb, I’m going to get to know the person who came out of my vagina.”
Congratulations, Rachel and Dan!
