RAF Typhoon jets in ‘quick reaction alert’ to ‘Russian bomber’ over North Sea

The RAF has messed up typhoon jets following reports of Russian planes over the North Sea.

The Department of Defense said a Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) from RAF Lossiemouth, Scotland was in the air.

Mil Radar’s Twitter page said a Russian plane was seen over the North Sea before it was quickly “shadowed by RAF QRA typhoons”.

It said: “Russian planes are now flying south over the North Sea, shadowed by RAF QRA Typhoons with the support of RAF Voyager.

“Royal Air Force QRA Typhoons launched from Lossiemouth.”

A Defense Department spokesman said The sun: “A Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) from RAF Lossiemouth is in the air. We do not provide details of operations.”

The fighter planes were handled by RAF Lossiemouth shortly after 8 a.m.
