Rick Scott to GOP hopefuls: Get Trump’s support, but go beyond that

Another Youngkin-esque rally strategy Scott endorsed is GOP contestants’ resistance to critical racial theory in schools, which says contestants will win if they “make sure” [your] Children Are Not Indoctrinated into Critical Racial Theory ”- although in many cases, including in Youngkins Virginia, the subject is not taught in the state’s school system.

Scott, chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, said the NRSC will actively support all incumbents running for re-election – even those who Trump opposes, like Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski.

Scott endorsed a campaign on these issues, but one Youngkin strategy that Scott didn’t endorse on Sunday was scare tactics related to elections. While Youngkin fueled the fire behind unsubstantiated election fraud allegations, Scott said he believed there was “buyer remorse” over President Joe Biden’s victory, but drew a line against the spread of conspiracy theories.

“Joe Biden is the president. We went through the constitutional process, he was elected, ”said the Florida Senator to Todd.

When asked why 4 out of 5 Republicans say they don’t think Biden’s election is legitimate, Scott made no attempt to justify that view.

“Well, I think you have to ask her,” he said.
