Sarah Harding has said that she was told by a doctor that she will likely be dead next Christmas.
The Girls Aloud star revealed last August that she was diagnosed with breast cancer that had spread to other parts of her body.
In an excerpt from her memoir, titled Hear Me Out, published in The Times, Harding wrote: “In December my doctor told me that Christmas would probably be my last.
“I don’t want an exact forecast. I don’t know why anyone would.
“It’s important to me now to be comfortable and as pain-free as possible.”
Harding said she tries “to live and enjoy every second of my life, however long it takes”.
“I have a glass or two of wine during all of this because it helps me relax,” she added.
“I’m sure some people think this is not a great idea, but I want to try and enjoy myself.
“I’m at a stage now where I don’t know how many months I have left.
“Who knows, maybe I’ll surprise everyone, but that’s how I see things.”
Harding also revealed that she had sepsis while being treated for cancer in the hospital.
She said she was placed in an induced coma and put on a ventilator.
“Even when I wasn’t on the ventilator, I couldn’t speak properly,” she said.
“I could only make noises that sounded like a chimpanzee trying to communicate.”
Harding said the public disclosure of her diagnosis was “scary” but also “the right thing”.
She said the support she received was “incredible” and added, “I’ve been inundated with great news from my fans. I’m indescribably grateful for that.”
