Six Capitol Police officers facing discipline for Jan. 6 actions, dozens absolved

The Capitol Police are in the process of disciplining six officers for misconduct based on their conduct on Jan. 6.

Three of the six officials whom the department failed to identify were charged with “improper conduct” while the others face disciplinary action for “failure to comply with instructions”, “inappropriate remarks” and “improper dissemination of information”.

However, the majority of the cases were deemed unfounded, including a dozen in which the department was unable to identify the officer involved in the alleged wrongdoing. The Department also announced that the US Attorney’s Office for Washington, DC, had not found enough evidence to indict a criminal offense in any of the cases.
