TV presenter Lorraine Kelly will have a new rival this morning – a BBC show starring Kym Marsh and Gethin Jones.
Morning Live starts right after BBC breakfast next month and will air on BBC One through Christmas.
The program will be “a vibrant and fun mix of cutting-edge content and expert advice,” said the BBC.
It will start at 9.15am and compete against the ITV show Lorraine.
Former Coronation Street Star Marsh, 44, who co-presented on The One Show, said, “I’ve always enjoyed watching morning TV. It’s a great way to start the day with a cup of coffee in hand, of course.”
“I love nothing more than a good catch-up process, although this will be on a slightly different scale, more like a daily conversation with our dear viewers.
“I think variety is key, so I’m really excited to be working with Gethin and our amazing guest hosts to deliver the latest on lifestyle, health and consumer insights,” added Marsh, who hosted this year’s Pride of Birmingham Awards.
42-year-old ex-Blue Peter host Jones said, “I look forward to working with Kym to give viewers across the UK the much-needed boost and, of course, the vital information they need.”
He also hosted The One Show and appeared on the BBC’s recent series of Celebrity Masterchef.
