Tesco changes shopping rules for 10 days ahead of Christmas

Hundreds of Tesco supermarket branches are open around the clock in the run-up to Christmas.

The news follows an announcement from M&S that 200 stores will be open by midnight, and Sainsbury says it will offer later shopping in the last few days before December 25th.

Primark has also announced that it will be opening a number of stores around the clock from next week after the new tier system goes into effect across England.

Tesco will open 300 stores around the clock from December 14th to 24th, excluding Sundays.

The remaining Tesco branches will also be open between these dates at extended trading hours from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. The sun reports.

According to M&S, around 200 or two-thirds of stores will be open until midnight.

The branches with extended opening hours include almost all branches that only sell groceries, as well as some clothing and grocery stores.

The rest won’t close their doors until 10pm. And no M&S will open on Boxing Day.

At Sainsbury’s, around 90% of stores will be open from 6 a.m. to midnight by December 25th.

And customers who buy long-life food between December 4th and 13th will receive ten times the number of nectar points.

In addition to 11 Primark branches for the whole day and all night, the bargain chain plans to extend the opening times in other shops as well, if possible, so that more people can pick up the essentials.

Primark stores open from 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 2nd through normal closing time on Thursday, December 3rd.
