The British supermarket giant Tesco hopes to be able to hire 30,000 seasonal employees in the run-up to Christmas.
The temporary positions in both the supermarkets and the Tesco Extra branches are needed to cope with the festive rush.
Tesco confirmed today that it has already started hiring additional workers, with half of the jobs being filled by workers who joined during the pandemic.
However, this means that another 15,000 employees will have to be hired over the next few weeks.
The jobs are spread across the UK, Tesco said, and temporary workers are encouraged to apply for permanent positions after their fixed-term contracts expire.

The supermarket also advertises 3,000 permanent positions within its warehouse sales team. Those who successfully apply will receive a bonus of £ 500 if they join by October 30th, this will be reduced to £ 250 for those hired between October 31st and November 27th.
Angela Woolfenden, Head of UK Resourcing at Tesco, said: “We are looking for people who enjoy working in a team and are willing to go one step further to help our customers.
“Our festive roles are a great way to be part of the Tesco team, from checkout to picking orders for home delivery or restocking the store.
“It’s an opportunity to meet great people, learn new skills and be part of a diverse team where everyone is welcome.”
