The 338 areas where cold weather payments are now available from DWP

Cold weather payments will help Universal Credit applicants during the January freeze – and officials have released a full list of where people can benefit from them.

As the cost of keeping the food warm this winter has increased, payments will now be made to eligible persons. the express reports.

Payments were first triggered shortly before the end of 2020.

Now the government has updated their list, meaning many more could be eligible for a £ 25 grant – and people living in 338 different zip code areas can currently benefit from it.

Payments are issued when the average temperature in a given area is recorded or forecasted as zero degrees Celsius or below for seven consecutive days.

Those who can live there are paid £ 25 for any seven day period in cold weather.

The program runs between November 1st and March 31st to provide vital support to those affected.

The £ 25 amount is deposited directly into an individual’s bank account if they are eligible. So you don’t have to worry about administrative measures.

Note, however, that Universal Loan applicants are not the only people who might be able to unlock a payment and others may get the help if they request:

  • Pension credit
  • social care
  • Income-related unemployment benefit
  • Income-related employment and support allowance
  • Support for mortgage interest

In order for people to find out if their area is eligible, there is an easy way to do it.

The DWP has a tool to check the post code on his website – although the full list is given below.

The updated list was published by DWP to provide additional information to those affected.

The DWP shared the list with the Express and displayed the full list of zip codes at which triggers occurred.
