One of the most popular CW series has ended with Season 8. Here are the reasons that show why there won’t be Season 9 of Vampire Dairies.
the Vampires diaries surprisingly ended after the eight seasons, but the question is, has it been canceled?
About the series Vampire Dairies
The fiction drama created by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec was based on one of the books written by L.J. Smith with a similar name. It aired on September 2009 and became the top rated series.
This is why the series has been going on for several years now and Plec confirmed in 2016 that the series will end the following year. Even after the end of Season 8, its popularity has spawned two products: the originals (featuring Steffan Salvatore) and the other bequests.
The storyline of Vampire Dairies
It emphasizes the usual transformations from the young to the adult phase. The story begins with Elena Gilbert and her friends and their distress controlling their bloodlust, figuring out how to direct powerful magic, deal with a werewolf curse, and try to remain human in a city full of supernatural beings.
The primary concept is the love triangle of Elena, Stefan Salvatore, and his older brother, Damon, which is why Elena chooses Damon. After the sixth season, the show suffered losses, reduced ratings and expiring contracts, ending the series with season 8.
What the makers have to say
Plec said the future of the series is still unpredictable at the start of Season 8. although it is somehow clear that the story revolves around the underworld of the Vampire Diaries.
Dobrev’s departure forced the show to focus on the strained relationship between Damon and Stefan. Viewership dropped from 1.44 million to 1.04 million from season six to seven.
Plec accepted the logistical and visionary hurdles the series faced and said in a guest column that “we hadn’t unplugged – we had chosen to say goodbye.”
The farewell is about the long and gloomy moment when they send the Salvatore brothers to harvest souls for the devils and send Damon into an existential crisis.
Though Tha Vampire Diaries didn’t end as planned and the series came off the stream. but gratitude for legacies like Damon, Elena, Bonnie, Caroline and Matt Donovan live on even when they don’t appear on screen.
