Queen Elizabeth II said goodbye to Prince Philip, her 73-year-old husband, today.
The monarch was forced to sit alone and wear a face mask as she mourned her late husband, who died on April 9 at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle at the age of 99.
During the composition, the somber picture showed the devastation Her Majesty is feeling.
Piers Morgan asked if there was a more heartbreaking picture of the Queen.
Former Good Morning Britain added that it was “just devastating” to see HRH mourn her late husband on livestream footage.
He wrote: “Has there ever been a more heartbreaking picture of the Queen?
“The cruel separation and loneliness so many have suffered from this pandemic now being endured by the world’s most famous woman as she says goodbye to her 73-year-old husband.
The queen bowed her head respectfully as the coffin was carried by pallbearers to its place in front of her bench.
Philip’s body has now been interred in the royal vault of St. George’s Chapel.
His final resting place will be with the queen when she dies.
