In a horror crash on New Year’s Eve, three people were killed and three children were injured.
Two cars collided on New Year’s Eve at around 4:45 p.m. on ramp N52 in Kells, Co Meath, Ireland, just off the M3 motorway.
The driver and passenger – both around 20 years old – in one of the cars and the woman who drove the other vehicle were killed.
Three children were hospitalized for treatment, including two little girls and a 12-year-old boy who was believed to be in serious condition.
The injuries to the girls should not be life-threatening.
The road was closed for a technical investigation, but has now been opened again.
Gardai was looking for witnesses.
Meath East TD Thomas Byrne has offered condolences to the families of the three deceased.
In a post on Twitter, the Minister for European Affairs said: “My deepest condolences go to the families of the bereaved and I give my thoughts to the injured.”
