Trump reiterated his longstanding argument on Sunday that he cannot clear his taxes because he is under scrutiny by the IRS, an agency he claimed was treating him “very badly”. However, the president said he was “proud to present his tax returns” once the audit was completed and insisted that he had paid “a lot” of money in taxes, including New York state income taxes.
“It will all be revealed,” said Trump. “It will come out – but after the audit.”
“The story,” he added, “is a total fake.”
