Popular live streaming platform Twitch has suspended a channel operated by a non-profit news organization. Unicorn Riot, the channel that posted footage of the George Floyd trial, was banned for violent footage.
Images released by Unicorn Riot include the hearings of the case that began Monday. During the trial of former police officer Derek Chauvin, the stern images of the person pressing Floyd’s neck were shown to the jurors for about nine and a half minutes. It was said that such action was taken on the grounds that the victim was black. George was reported to have died an hour after the incident.
This incident sparked months of global protests in support of racial justice in the wake of this incident. People and even many big companies started their “Black Lives Matters” protests against racism. However, Twitch said the video posted violated content guidelines.

Unicorn Riot, who posted footage of the George Floyd case and the gruesome video of the incident, ran into a 30-day hurdle on Twitch. While the platform chooses not to make a statement about this; The popular news channel said it can broadcast the same images through YouTube, Facebook and Periscope without any problems.
Apps like Facebook and Twitter are sensitive to messages that violate content guidelines. If the content is believed to be newsworthy; According to company policy, it is possible to publish a broadcast under control.
