Police said two men were arrested on suspicion of murder after another man died.
A man in his fifties was found dead on a property on Clare Street in Gloucester on Wednesday afternoon as police responded to welfare concerns.
Two men, aged 38 and 42, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody, Gloucestershire police said.
Detective Chief Inspector John Turner, who is leading the investigation, said, “Our detectives are working hard to reconstruct the incidents and we know the local community may be concerned about it.
“Searches will be carried out in the area in the coming days, which will lead to an increased police presence and people will see more police in the area.
“Anyone with information that they believe may be relevant to the ongoing investigation is urged to get in touch and contact us.”
Investigators are asking for clues related to the incident and anyone who may be able to help is asked to report to the police.
