UK reports no daily Covid deaths for the first time in almost a year

According to the government, no deaths were reported on Tuesday within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19.

This is the first time since July 30, 2020.

This means the UK total stays at 127,782.

Separate figures released by the Office for National Statistics show that there have now been 153,000 deaths recorded in the UK with Covid-19 mentioned on death certificates.

The government also said there had been an additional 3,165 laboratory-confirmed cases in the UK by 9 a.m. on Tuesday.

Government data through May 31 shows that of the 65,211,877 vaccinations given in the UK to date, 39,477,158 were first doses – an increase of 93,103 from the previous day.

About 25,734,719 were second doses, an increase from 195,546.
